Our
2009 Kiddings began
in April

Pansy's 2009 Kids by
Fleetwood, the doe
is on the left,
wether on the right.

We rescued this
bunny after his dam
was killed by a
fox. He has
gone to a nice pet
home where he will
be a house
rabbit.
We still have a yard
full of free range
rabbits, Dan
introduced some
color to the rabbit
herd with a gray
Giant Chinchilla
buck rabbit.

Passion Flower's
kids by
Pizzazz. The
goat angels got a
little happy with
the white paint, but
they are sure
cute!
The wether is the
agouti, and his
sister is a dark
caramel.

Contessa kidded with
these fine doelings
sired by
Eason. All we
can say is WOW!

Sarann gave us 3
fine boys for her
first kidding and
our final kidding
for the 2009 season.
Their dad is
Pizzazz.
2008,
Our Biggest and
Brightest Kidding
Season Ever!
We
had tons of big
litters in 2008,
proving that fescue
grass has the same
detrimental effects
on pygmy goats as it
does on other breeds
of livestock.
Fescue has a
naturally occurring
endophyte that
lowers conception
rate and fertility,
can cause prolonged
gestation and lack
of milk. While
our does have never
lacked milk they did
have many single
births and longer
than normal
gestation times in
the last few years
when we were feeding
mostly fescue hay
during the
winter. It was
nice fescue hay but
you can bet we won't
be feeding it to our
goats anymore.
2008 was a year for
triplets and even 2
sets of quads!
While the bigger
litter size makes
for lots of kids
underfoot we are
VERY glad to be back
to a normal 145 to
147 day
gestation.
Kidding is SO much
easier when the kids
aren't already
halfway grown at
birth. Our
final count was 46
kids.

This is Classy
Lady's doeling,
Sassy Lady, she has
an equally gorgeous
brother

These are Ivana's
twin does Thumbelina
Dancing (L) and Tiny
Dancer (R).
They are Okavango's
first daughters

This is Charm's HOT
little buckling,
Talisman, I LOVE
this guy and if he
doesn't sell he
stays! His
sire is Bad
Bob. This
picture is taken at
about 2 weeks old.

Climbing Up For A
Better View.
This is Charm's HOT
little doeling,
Rumba. That is
not Charm playing
the part of the
mountain!

Just a little
trim....

These are Passion
Flower's Twins, an
agouti buckling and
a caramel doeling,
Tango. The
sire is Bad
Bob. That is
Faberge in the
background

These are 2 of
Phoebe's triplets,
she has 2 does and a
buck by Tzar.
I believe these are
April (L) and
Phantom (R).

This is Red Sonja,
the surviving twin
of Faberge and
Okavango. Here
she is an hour old
or so.

Here are some
pictures of
Thumbelina Dancing
discovering her
"Boing".
She was a tiny 1
pound 6 ounces at
birth, but is
catching up fast and
one of this year's
Brat Pack
Ringleaders.
We knew when she
really started to
dance she was going
to be just
fine! Here she
is about 5 days old.

Dan and Roscoe
watching TV.
Don't panic Roscoe
is a chihuahua, not
a goat! And he
does have ears they
are just staying
warm.

Every year has its
bottle babies, these
are Red Sonya and
one of Sophie's
wethers enjoying
their lunch.

Here's the black
wether shown in the
picture above when
he was much
younger. He
commandeered the
dogbed much to our
chihuahuas'
disgust.
They do not approve
of "living room
livestock" at
all!

A different view of
our does'
pasture. They
have the option of
deep shade under the
trees when the sun
is hot and high in
the sky. Here
they are settling
down for an
afternoon of cud
chewing.

No that is not the
redneck version of
the grim reaper, it
is Dan cutting
lespedeza (a legume
hay) for the
herd. He can
cut enough for a day
in about 15 minutes
and the goats love
it! Scything
isn't for everyone
but Dan is in super
shape this summer
from his near daily
workout and we have
saved quite a bit of
money.
Past
Years:
A
Sweet Beginning to
our 2007 Kidding
Season!

American Beauty
baked up some
"brownies"
for April Fools Day
2007! These
are her twin wethers
by Tsavo. They
have been sold.

Zephyr's twins
blew into the barn
on April 10.
She had a beautiful
buck and doe by
Tsavo. We are
retaining the buck,
Zaphod, for
now.
Unfortunately the
doeling crossed the
Rainbow bridge a few
days after birth,
she was a beauty and
we will miss
watching her grow.

Doll's babies,
twin does arrived on
April 11. Yes
the one has an
extraordinary
misplaced belly band
that covers her
entire rearend!
We call her Hotpants
for obvious
reasons! Her
sister, Fancy Free,
has been sold.

Pansy
"sprouted"
Dahlia on April
15. Dahlia's
dad is
Fleetwood. Do
you think she was
just destined to be
black or what? We
are keeping Dahlia.

Passion Flower
had twin boys (she
does love giving us
boys!) on April
28. Their pop
is Bad Bob.
They have been sold.

White Rose
blessed us with
these 2
"rosebuds",
twin does on April
29. Dad is
Ivan. One is a
brown marked light
caramel, her sister
is a medium brown
agouti. The
caramel, Vanna, is
for sale, see our
Sales Page for more
pictures and
details. We
are holding onto
Sarann, the brown
agouti.

Charm popped out
this lovely caramel
doeling on May
4. Her daddy
is Bad Bob. We
think we will be
holding on to her
and have named her
Amulet.

Classy Lady II
gave us this cute
wether on June
6. His daddy
is Tzar. He is
for sale, see our
Sales List Page for
pictures and
details!

Moonpie and
Oberon wish to
announce the arrival
of this little
sweetie, HoHo on
June 11. A
HoHo is a popular
Little Debbie Snack
Cake, for those that
don't know... It is
chocolate devil's
food cake rolled up
with a white cream
filling and dipped
in chocolate.
HoHo is for sale,
see our Sales List
Page for details.

Ursula (a
Natalia daughter)
started our late
2007 kiddings with 2
beautiful girls
sired by Tsavo.
We have named them
Circe and
Lolita. She
certainly knows how
to make up for her
dam's lack of
doe kids! They
arrived on 8/19.

This cute pair,
a buck and doe
arrived on
8/27. Amber
and Rulon are the
parents. The
buck may be a good
herdsire prospect,
we are keeping a
close eye on his
development.
He is muscular, deep
and wide has a
beautiful head and
outstanding
bloodlines, he just
screamed "I'm A
Buck!" from the
very start. We
have named the doe
Tabitha.

Here's a picture of
some of our kids
having breakfast
with some of our
free ranging
rabbits. We
have about 20
rabbits roaming our
yard, something like
an Alice in
Wonderland
explosion thing
going on here.

Here are
Moondance's twins,
the two caramels,
ganging up on
Amber's
buckling. They
are a buck and doe,
born on
9/5/07. Their
pop is Tsavo.
We
Were Hip Deep In
Kids In 2006
Our
kidding season
finished very well,
Natalia gave us
another long awaited
doeling! One
of Amber's boys is a
very nice buck
prospect, the other
is loudly mismarked
and will be a superb
show wether.
We still have a few
doelings, adult does
and wethers for
sale. See our
Sales Page.
Our 2007 kids should

mid to late March.
