The
Rainbow Bridge
Inspired
By a Norse Legend a
Poem By Steve and
Diane Bodofsky
By
the edge of a woods,
at the foot of a
hill,
Is
a lush, green meadow
where time stands
still.
Where the friends of
man and woman do
run,
When their time on
earth is over and
done.
For
here, between this
world and the next,
Is a place where
each beloved
creature finds rest.
On this golden land,
they wait and they
play,
Till the Rainbow
Bridge they cross
over one day.
No
more do they suffer,
in pain or in
sadness,
For here they are
whole, their lives
filled with
gladness.
Their limbs are
restored, their
health renewed,
Their bodies have
healed, with
strength imbued.
They
romp through the
grass, without even
a care,
Until one day they
start, and sniff at
the air.
All ears prick
forward, eyes dart
front and back,
Then all of a
sudden, one breaks
from the pack.
For
just at that
instant, their eyes
have met;
Together again, both
person and pet.
So they run to each
other, these friends
from long past,
The time of their
parting is over at
last.
The
sadness they felt
while they were
apart,
Has turned into joy
once more in each
heart.
They embrace with a
love that will last
forever,
And then,
side-by-side, they
cross over…
together.
We've
said Good Night, but
not Goodbye.
These special goats
live on in their
sons and daughters,
brothers and
sisters.

was certainly a
stellar buck and
left a profound mark
on our herd.
He was one of the

started her career
as one of our top

matured very fast as
a youngster, taking
her first big ribbon
at barely 5 months
old. Of course
we were very eager
to breed her and she
hasn't disappointed
us. Her kids
are
outstanding.
She passed over on

Diamond
was one of the first
of my milking
pygmies. She
was a flighty, wild
gal when she was
first introduced to
the milking
stanchion, but soon
we were working as a
team. Later
that first season
she made a return to
the showring with a
calmer, trusting
easy to handle
attitude and quickly
won 2 legs.

When we first
brought Classy home
as a 5 month old kid
we hoped she would
not be too
intimidated by all
of the strangers she
was joining.
But Classy knew she
was destined to be
leader one day and
walked into the doe
barn butting heads
and taking
names.
After Hebe retired
from the throne
Classy Lady became
the Herd Queen she
was meant to
be. When
we look out at our
herd we can easily
see her influence in
our best caramel
does. She
nearly always gave
us at least one
caramel each time
she has
kidded. Classy
left us on March 15,

Zephyr
was a favorite on
the show
circuit. She
was a flashy doe
with lots of
"look at
me"
attitude. She
had an easygoing
personality if you
don't sneak up on
her (I suspect she
needs glasses or
contacts, LOL).
Her structure is
quite correct and
she is not at all an
extreme doe, being
very smoothly
blended, balanced
and
proportional.
She crossed the
Rainbow Bridge in
January 2012.

Penelope
has been an eye
catcher since she
was born and is from
our favorite doe
line. She is a
powerful but
feminine doe with
lots of show ring
presence and is just
getting better and
better. Just
look at that topline
and her balance and
proportion.
She has nice
strength of bone,
straight well set
legs both front and
rear and a sweet
pygmy type
head. Her
first kidding went
very easily and she
raised the kids
(triplets!) by
herself. She
finished her PGCH in
about 2
months. Sadly
we lost Penelope in
October of 2011.
